POSITION SUMMARY:
RA’s client is seeking a dynamic, customer-focused professional with a strong technical background in industrial lasers and materials processing applications. This individual will play a dual role in key account management and sales / business development, leveraging their expertise to foster strong new customer relationships, enhance existing relationships and drive regional growth.
The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on “hunter” driven sales environment, offering new and existing customers applications solutions while cultivating new sales opportunities. Based in our client’s Santa Clara office, the Sales Manager will report directly to the Head of Sales for the Western Region. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, strong sales experience / accomplishment, and the ability to deliver innovative, customized solutions to our customers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Key Account Management: Build and nurture relationships with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and continuing / enhancing long-term partnerships.
- Business Development / Sales: Identify and develop new opportunities by understanding and addressing customer needs and market trends.
- Technical Expertise: Conduct product demonstrations, troubleshoot applications, and develop customized solutions for both new and existing customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on customer requirements and deliver optimal solutions.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer sites to showcase product capabilities.
- Contribute to marketing initiatives, including technical articles, white papers, and newsletters.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
- Address customer challenges with prompt and effective solutions, teaming with sales and engineering to exceed customer expectations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline such as Physics, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in sales, applications engineering or customer-facing roles in industrial laser/materials processing.
- Proven experience managing and growing sales of complex technical products.
- Strong track record in selling to OEMs and technology companies.
- Knowledge and expertise in industrial laser applications, including cutting, welding, and process monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Deep understanding of several of the following: optics, photonics, industrial lasers, beam delivery components, and materials processing technologies.
- Strategic mindset for cultivating key accounts and identifying new business opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, customer-driven environment.
- German, or Mandarin Chinese language / cultural skills and experience a plus
